Her landmark films were Hamara Khandaan (1987), Naqab (1989), Yateem (1989) and Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri (1990). She retired from acting at the peak of her career in 1990 at the age of 22. She worked with almost all of the top actors of her time, including Rajesh Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Mithun, Govinda, and Aamir Khan. She is the niece of Shabana Azmi and the older sister of Tabu. Career Farah made her debut in 1985 with Yash Chopra's Faasle opposite Mahendra Kapoor's son Rohan Kapoor. Although Faasle was a disaster, Farah got many other big offers like Shakti Samanta's Paley Khan, K.C Bokadia's Naseeb Apna Apna and Pran Lal Mehta's Love 86. She was part of hits like Marte Dam Tak, Naseeb Apna Apna, Love 86, Imaandaar, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahaani, Diljala, Rakhwala, Hamara Khandaan, Woh Phir Ayegi, Veeru Dada, Baap Ek Numbari Beta Dus Numbari and Muqabla. J.P Dutta's Yateem got her critical acclaim, and it was one of her performance-oriented roles, along with films such as Faasle, Naqaab, Khatarnaak, Begunaah and Pati Patni aur Tawaif, although they were commercial failures. In the 1990s, she worked with Aamir Khan in two films, Jawani Jindabad and Isi Ka Naam Zindagi,[1] but both flopped at box office. She was signed for Khuda Gawah and she shot for few scenes, but due to delays in production, she was later replaced with Shilpa Shirodkar. By the same time, she got married to Dara Singh's son Vindu Dara Singh. Farah then started playing supporting roles in films like Muqabla, Dhartiputra and Izzat Ki Roti. She later switched to television and did serials such as Amar Prem, Andaz, Ahaa (all three produced by Himesh Reshammiya), Vailayiti Babu and Papa. Farah was also planning a mega serial called Taqdeer, but shelved the project. She returned to films in 2004 with Hulchul.[2] Personal life Farah was married to actor Vindu Dara Singh, with whom she has a son Fateh Randhawa. It was one of her best performance oriented roles along with films like Hamara Khandaan (1989), Naqaab (1989), Khatarnaak (1990), Pati Patni aur Tawaif (1990), etc. But most of the other films failed at the Box office. In the 90s, she got to work with Aamir Khan in two films Jawani Jindabad (1990) & Isi Ka Naam Zindagi (1992), but both flopped at box office.

She was known for her bindaas and outspoken behavior and often called Fiery Farah. Around this time, she got married to Dara Singh's son Vindu Dara Singh, who was recently in the news for winning a popular reality show Bigg Boss on Television. She retired for a while from films at the peak of her career in 1990, when she was only 22 years old.
She later did some TV serials like Amar Prem, Andaz, Ahaa, Vailayiti Babu, Papa etc. After a gap, she returned to films with Hulchul (2004).
